We support

black farming communities

Our Mission

Jubilee Justice is on a mission to seed rural justice and end rural racism through new systems that serve Black agricultural communities.

Black farming communities have endured a 90% land loss since the 1920s and now make up less than 2% of all American farmers. To support their recovery and growth, we provide a holistic approach that integrates equitable agriculture, reparative capital, and transformative learning. This fosters sustainable growth, land stewardship, and helps rebuild economic, social, cultural, and spiritual capital within these communities.

Our Vision

We envision a transformed America where the institutional injustices rooted in a history of spiritual and material extraction and exploitation concerning Land, Race, and Money are replaced with justice, equity, and repair. This transformation necessitates the redistribution of resources, the equitable sharing of knowledge and information, cross-racial and personal healing grounded in a worldview of interdependence, and the active recognition of the sacredness of the Earth and soil upon which all life depends.

Our passion is in our name

JUBILEE

Tracing its roots back thousands of years to many societies and religious traditions, a Jubilee is a celebration marking the seventh seven-year sabbatical, or the 50th year. It is a time of equity and redistribution for people, society, and land—farmland goes fallow, property is returned, debts are forgiven, the enslaved are freed, people rest, and communities rejoice. In the United States, it also represents the emancipation of enslaved Black people and the start of self-determination.

JUSTICE

And we have an extraordinary passion that all people shall be genuinely respected and treated with equity… and justice. So we put it in our name.
